Jimmy Cohrssen
is a distinguished photographer with numerous awards for his work over
the past 20 years, as far back as junior high school. While proficient
in all types of photography, his passion is architecture and design.
His work emphasizes an understanding and comprehension of the influence
of light on creating an image.
His
photographs of interiors and buildings from around the world are in
numerous publications.
A native
of Virginia, Jimmy studied photography and film in New York and Washington,
D.C From his earliest school days, Jimmy has used the camera and the
darkroom as a way of expressing his individuality. His signature use
of a square format grew from his childhood use of an old Konica camera,
which his grandfather gave him. The picture on this page shows him
at age two preparing to take his first photo.
The
heart of his personal vision was captured in the book Twilight,
which he co-authored with Nicole Blackman. Some of these images can
